EXCITING NEW PROJECT HAPPENING AT NEECA THIS FALL!

At our recent July meeting the NEECA Board of Directors voted unanimously to greenlight yet ANOTHER exciting project that will be taking place at NEECA this year, hopefully in September. This project will be in addition to the brand new NEECA jumps purchased at the start of the year, along with the new shed installed next to the Althea Bramhall Driving Arena. We are very excited about this new project and can't wait to share it with everyone. But we are going to let the anticipation build, and will announce the project when it's "in the works" and we have some great pictures to share.

Over the past 4 years or so, we have been averaging over $20,000 each year in improvements at NEECA including, but not limited to: Food Booth, Well with two hydrants next to main arena, widening of road leading to Confidence Course, new jumps and rails, new signage, new obstacles added to Confidence Course, new NEECA Nature trail, warm-up arena footing replaced, driving arena created, PA system wiring put underground, speakers installed in trailer parking driveway. We managed to do all that AND donate an Equine Rescue Kit to the Athol Fire Department!

All of these improvements have been funded by membership fees, profit from the numerous events we offer over the year, a few small grants, and generous donations from our supporters. We strive to constantly move forward in our goal to expand NEECA's offerings, and improve the park itself, making it more functional and attractive.

So keep an eye out in September when you're up there and maybe you'll be able to spot our newest improvement that will be taking place before we officially announce it!

Shouldn't be too hard to notice. ;)

NEECA SPRUCE UP!!

We have a few quiet weeks at NEECA between events, but we're not letting them go to waste. Thanks to the efforts of Bryan Mansfield, you are going to see some BIG changes around the NEECA Main Arena next time you visit the park. Our little brown storage shed has been moved, we got rid of the broken fencing and replaced it with brand new white PVC fencing, the jumps and poles will now be stored behind yet another white PVC privacy fence located closer to the main arena. This much needed spruce up was accomplished over a two day period by Bryan and has really made the main arena and parking area much more attractive. Nearly everything that happens at NEECA happens because of our wonderful volunteers!

NEECA's schedule is kind of light in August due to the fact that it can be hot and muggy. But we do have three events on the calendar for our members to enjoy: NEECA Drivers will be hosting another fun day on August 11th, Heron's Crest returns on August 17th for the next schooling jumping show in their 5 event series, and the NEECA Gymkhana returns at the end of the month on August 24th!

Soccer On Horseback Returns!

We've still got a few openings left in the Soccer on Horseback Clinic taking place in NEECA's main arena on Sunday, Sept. 28th. This unique and fun clinic is taught by Farah DeJohnette from Farah DeJohnette Horsemanship, based out of Ohana Farm in North Brookfield. Photo is from last year's clinic, and participants had an absolute blast, and we're pretty sure their horses did as well! For more information, go to https://www.neeca.org/soccer-clinic
