Gather Place “The Bucks County Community Space!”

Yesterday's program drew a fully engaged audience, with everyone expressing sincere gratitude for a meaningful and enlightening lecture. The presentation brought to life Bucks County’s Underground Railroad history, with special focus on the powerful story of Benjamin “Big Ben” Jones, leaving a lasting impression on attendees!

Shirley’s presentation brought to life Bucks County’s Underground Railroad history, highlighting the powerful story of Benjamin “Big Ben” Jones and leaving a lasting impression on attendees. The audience shared they were learning so much—especially about Bucks County's early history and the ingenuity of the Underground Railroad and the diversity of abolitionists involved!

At Gather Place, audience Q&A, community engagement, and our intentional approach to capturing feedback—both verbal and written—are truly our “crown jewel.” This has been a cornerstone of our work since our inception four years ago. It is this commitment—paired with the quality of our in-demand, originally designed, developed, and delivered programs—that has driven our growth. Our work is not based on static renderings or exhibits alone, nor something that can be removed, erased, homogenized, or appropriated. We listen, learn, connect, and exchange with our community.

We hear what you're saying to us:

🗨️ “I didn’t realize how extensive Yardley’s involvement was—especially with AME Churches and Quaker contributions.”

🗨️ “Big Ben Jones—I wasn’t aware of him. His story was especially compelling.”

🗨️ “So many Underground Railroad locations—right here in Bucks County!”

🗨️ Attendees noted the strong sense of community and the depth of local history woven throughout the program.

🗨️ “Shirley’s presentation was personable, insightful—and I’ll definitely be attending more events.”
