Dear Friends,
After over a year of dedicated service to No Ethanol Fernandina and Fernandina Wins, Mr. Tom Budd has elected to resign as our President and as a member of the Board of Directors. The Board of No Ethanol Fernandina has accepted Tom’s decision and has elected new officers for both No Ethanol Fernandina and our two Fernandina Wins organizations. The Board has begun to reorganize and is looking to expand its membership.
Frank Hileman will serve as our new President, John Hart will continue to serve as Treasurer, and Len Kreger will replace Julie Ferreira as our Secretary. We also welcome Ms. Kristin Huben into our organization as our new Communications Director allowing Julie Ferreira to focus on community outreach. Kristin has already been volunteering her time and talent, and we are very excited to have her on board officially.
The Board of Directors thanks Tom for his energy, organization, leadership, and passion for our cause. Tom has been key to our organization’s effort to stop ethanol manufacturing on our island.
From standing up as the named plaintiff to challenge the FDEP air permit, establishing our No Ethanol Fernandina nonprofit organizations to effectively oppose RYAM’s efforts, through our recent success denying RYAM a legislative fix during the 2025 Florida legislative session, Tom's leadership has been key, and we sincerely appreciate his many contributions.
While he won't hold an official role, he remains a friend and colleague committed to stopping ethanol production in the city of Fernandina Beach.
