Greetings!
We're gearing up for the Fall, and in NEFLIN World, that means one thing: Annual Meeting!
Every year, we look forward to catching up with all of you, and we know that many of you look forward to seeing friends from other libraries across the region. We promise that face-to-face Annual Meetings WILL return, but for 2021, we'll once again be meeting virtually. Never fear - we'll still have a great time "together".
This year, we're opening up the agenda to YOU. We're looking for NEFLIN members who are willing to share programs, services, and resources from their libraries. Remember that the NEFLIN membership includes all types of libraries from all types of communities, and if something is important or interesting to you, it will be to someone else, as well.
See more information below about submitting a proposal to present at the Annual Meeting. Don't miss this chance to represent!!!

Thank you for taking the 2021 CE Survey
We concluded our yearly Continuing Education Survey back in June. This is part of where we gain the guidance in selecting our future workshops and webinars to help you expand your professional knowledge.
This year we gave away four Amazon gift cards to survey participants. Here are the lucky folks who won:
Diana Blitch
Alachua County Library District
Jessica Bowman Suwannee River Regional Library System
Tina Chalfant
Brevard County Libraries
Thanks to all who participated in the Survey this year. We hope you're looking forward to next year's already! Maybe you'll join these winners!
What did we learn from the survey? Well, it looks like most of our members are big fans of Personal and Professional Development. There's a strong desire for lots of knowledge on Emerging Technologies, Job skills (reference, customer service, etc.) and Technical Services. Want more details on what your peers would like to see? Sign up for the NEFLIN Annual Meeting! We will have more insight as part of the Continuing Education Annual Report!

Andrew Sanderbeck is back!
This event is a Special Meeting of the NEFLIN Leadership Interest Group featuring Andrew Sanderbeck. All are welcome to attend, even if you have not been involved with the Leadership Interest Group before.
It's been a while since we've been able to offer a workshop from one of our most popular trainers, Andrew Sanderbeck - we're excited to welcome him back!

Change is constant; nothing stays the same. By definition then, leadership is constantly leading through change. Whatever the spectrum of change you’re leading (or about to lead) in your organization today, there are certain elements that must be present for the change to be successful.
In this interactive and informative program, we will explore the ADKAR Model and the five outcomes needed for a change initiative to be successful and how attendees can apply the model to a current or future change project.
Bring your plans for one current or future change initiative to this program and immediately apply the information to incorporate into your action plan.

Carl S. Swisher Library

Jenny and Beth enjoyed a recent opportunity to travel across town for a visit with our friends at Jacksonville University's Carl S. Swisher Library. In the middle of the sprawling campus, located on the banks of the St. Johns River and filled with lovely, Old Florida oak trees, the staff at Swisher have spent their summer months knee deep in weeding, consolidating, and shifting their print collection to make it more relevant and accessible. At the same time, they've opened up new spaces for student study and collaboration. The addition of a Digital Media Lab, new furniture, and informational touch screens, as well as the campus Writing Center's relocation to the library building, are proving that the Swisher Library is the hub of the school. Our thanks to Casanna Jackson and Allison Crawford for welcoming us and giving us such a wonderful tour!
If you would like a visit from NEFLIN, please let us know! We are happy to meet with your staff, as well, to help them take advantage of all NEFLIN has to offer.
