First off, thanks to Jae Bass for taking photos of the day!
$1,223 was raised in our silent auction for the Jim Morris Fund. This fund provides up to $500 in travel funds to be used towards attending conferences or other professional development activities. Thanks to Patty Morris for coordinating the silent auction.

23 Mobile Things is a new program where NEFLIN members can learn about using Apps. |
Participants will download the free app of the week to their phone or tablet, follow instructions on our website, and write a paragraph or two about their experiences with the app.
The program kicks off January 12, 2015.
That's the basics, but there is a lot more to it. Stay tuned for details. | The Idea Bank is a newly created online wiki. This shared resource will be a place where members can post, exchange, and discuss new ideas. |
The purpose is to encourage collaboration and sharing ideas.
We hope to make this resource available for the end of 2014.
|
NEFLIN Innovation Grants are a new program that will allow member libraries to apply for funding a specific project at their library. |
Get out your wish list or put on your thinking cap! The application process is currently being developed, so you have some time to do some brainstorming with your colleagues.

Member Library Spotlight: KSC Library
|
Kennedy Space Center Library Tricia Miller, IMCS Manager
The Kennedy Space Center Librarians have been serving the information needs of the John F. Kennedy Space Center since its founding in 1962. The Library, originally established when the launch team was based on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, expanded its operations to include the main Library on the first floor of the Headquarters Building and two branch Libraries located in the Engineering and Laboratory building and the Central Instrumentation Facility.
Throughout the history of KSC, Librarians have supported a variety of researchers working on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Shuttle programs. Documentation necessary to operate an institution such as KSC has also been provided. While the main libraries have since been closed to walk-in traffic, our Archives and Documents, Specifications and Standards departments are still available for walk-in requests. The majority of our customer interactions now occur online through our website or via email or phone.
The Library is open to all NASA and KSC contractor personnel. We offer a wide range of services including research, circulation, acquisition, interlibrary loan, documents, specifications and standards, and archives services. The Library is also a member of the NASA Information Services Alliance (NISA) which has representation from all the NASA libraries. Our Agency group works together to share resources and information that supports NASA's missions and also keeps us up to date on emerging trends and technologies in library services.
