Happy February!
While we know not everyone has returned to traveling "normally", we are enjoying seeing many of you at this quarter's face-to-face events: the Management Training Institute, the School Libraries Mini-Institute, and our series of Strategic Planning Focus Groups.
But to our friends who are sticking close to home, we are also pleased at how many of you have been able to participate in virtual opportunities from NEFLIN. Read on to find out about some upcoming online events, including two newly added virtual focus groups, the Florida Libraries Online Conference, Interest Group meetings, and more.
Whether face-to-face or screen-to-screen, we hope to see you soon!

Have you taken this year's
Annual Survey?
|
|
|
The NEFLIN Annual Survey is one of the best tools we have to find out what type of training, services, programs, and resources will be most beneficial to YOU.
It only takes 10-15 minutes of your time to complete the survey. Plus, we'll enter your name in a drawing for one of five $25 amazon.com gift cards.
Time's almost up...

Curb Appeal: Improving the Appearance of Libraries When You Don't Have Time or Money
|
|
You're proud of your collection, your programs, your staff, and your services. But the physical details of library also are what people remember and can encourage them to return.
There may be issues that don’t bother you even though other people have brought them up: dim bulbs, drab walls, a weird smell in tech services, broken concrete by the loading dock. What would a stranger notice first driving into the parking lot, walking up to the front door, spending time in the front lobby, or wandering around the basement, the stairs, or the stacks? Can you look at your library workplace with fresh eyes and find ways to make it shine, even on a limited budget?
Topics include: first impressions, updating your operational plan, removing clutter, affordable fixables, and keeping the library safe for the elderly, infirmed, and younger children.

When you're a librarian leading a library cooperative that supports libraries across 24 counties in Northeast Florida, what book do you check out of YOUR local library? One about libraries, of course. 😀
