Nominations are now open!
It's time! Nominations for the 2023 NEFLIN Awards are now open. This is your opportunity to honor a deserving colleague or community member for the hard work they are doing.

Member of the Year
The NEFLIN Member of the Year Award recognizes a current employee of a NEFLIN library who has made a significant positive impact on his/her library and the community it serves. Download Nomination Form

Distinguished Career Award
The Distinguished Career Award is for an individual who has displayed exemplary achievement and leadership throughout his/her career in the library field. Download Nomination Form

Library Innovation Award

Library Champion Award

2023 Technology Conference
Registration is now open!
Registration is now open for the 2023 NEFLIN Technology Conference!

This year's conference will be held at the Schultz Center in Jacksonville on Friday, April 21st. Our keynote speaker will be Nick Tanzi, author, speaker, and creator of The Digital Librarian. Nick will also host a breakout session later in the day.

NEFLIN invites you to submit a proposal for the member’s only TechSpace at our 2023 Technology Conference! We want to showcase member libraries as presenters, highlighting the tools and technology currently used at your institutions. The goal is for all attendees to learn how different devices work with hands-on familiarization and training!

Please submit your the brief proposal form by March 31, 2023.
Jim Morris CE Fund Raffle

Each year, NEFLIN hosts a raffle to raise money for the Jim Morris Continuing Education Fund. All funds raised through this raffle go back into the JMCEF to support professional development travel for our members.
This year, we're raffling off a Home Theater Projector and 100-inch portable projector screen! Raffle tickets are $1 each with a minimum $10 purchase.

The drawing will take place at the 2023 Tech Conference, but you do not need to be present to win!

Library Leadership Institute

Are you early in your library career and looking to build a strong future for yourself?

The Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute is an excellent tool to help you meet your goals - no matter which stage of your career you are in. SSLLI is a one-year cohort-based leadership program that boasts more than 600 graduates. Alumni of the program are now leading in libraries all over the State - and Country!

The application window for SSLLI Year 18 will open in April, and this year's cohorts will meet in Lake County (Clermont) and Palm Beach County (Delray Beach). Did you know that several of our Interest Groups have begun to meet in person again? We've enjoyed some great in person meetings in our Academic Libraries, School Libraries, and Gaming groups - and there are more opportunities to come! We would love to see you at our upcoming Public Libraries or Children's Services meetings!
The Public Libraries Interest Group will meet on Friday, March 24, from 10:30-1:30 at the Main library branch of the Jacksonville Public Library in downtown Jacksonville.
Join us for an awesome day in downtown Jacksonville touring the five floors of the Main library branch, listening to an awesome speaker and collaborating on takeaways we can all use! We should end just in time for lunch and we’ve got a great list of spots downtown just for you.

Library Security, Safety, and Service at the Moments of Truth
with Dr. Steve Albrecht

Enjoy Steve's real-life experiences as a 22-year library security consultant, mixed with his use of humor. Learn safety and security measures, personal protection methods, and how to activate your "high-risk" customer service skills.
Trainer: Dr. Steve Albrecht
Since 2000, Dr. Steve Albrecht has trained thousands of library employees in 28+ states, live and online, in service, safety, and security. His programs are fast, entertaining, and provide tools that can be put to use immediately in the library workspace with all types of patrons. 

In 2015, the ALA published his book, Library Security: Better Communication, Safer Facilities. His new book, The Safe Library: Keeping Users, Staff, and Collections Secure, was just published by Rowman & Littlefield. Steve holds a doctoral degree in Business Administration (D.B.A.), an M.A. in Security Management, a B.A. in English, and a B.S. in Psychology. He is board-certified in HR, security management, employee coaching, and threat assessment. He has written 25 books on business, security, and leadership topics. He lives in Springfield, Missouri, with six dogs and two cats.
This project was funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.
For FY2022-23, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $688,109. 42% of the total costs ($288,109) are supported by federal funds, and 58% of this program ($400,000) is supported by state funds.
