"No matter what, we’re going to serve our people. NEFP won’t turn anyone away. That’s not what we do." A'Jay Scipio, NEFP Program Manager
Dear Friends of Northeast Emergency Food Program,

The last few weeks have been like something out of a movie! We have seen the lives of our neighbors, friends and families turned upside down. Yet, we have managed to change courses as necessary to meet the ever increasing needs of those in our community who need us most!

While nothing could have prepared us for the 34,000 plus clients we’d serve in March, nor the 41,000 plus clients we served in April, we are humbled and strengthened by the love and generosity shown by YOU, our community. You have continued to pour out your time and resources to help stabilize us during such turbulent times.

As we move forward through these uncharted waters, we will continue to be the lighthouse that so many need. While this crisis is far from over, we are thankful and hopeful that others will answer the call to keep the lifelines open and available, until we are all able to enjoy life in the new normal … whenever, and whatever that may look like.

Volunteers Needed!
EMO's Northeast Emergency Food Program is seeking volunteers to package and distribute food boxes.

While NEFP is filling the increased food demands in or community, our volunteer capacity has dropped by two-thirds. Anyone interested in volunteering may email their availability to nefp@emoregon.org . or fill out EMO's Volunteer Interest Form .
Be an Advocate for NEFP
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased the demand for NEFP’s vital services, and we need more resources to continue serving all of our neighbors in need. Help Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon secure state support for NEFP by emailing lawmakers and asking them to include NEFP in Oregon’s COVID-19 relief package. We have provided a template message and it takes just a few moments to contact your legislators!
