Early college programs (where high school students attend college courses on campus) have shown great impact on academic achievement, return on investment and graduation rates. Russ Olwell of Merrimack College's School of Education and Social Policy writes that today's grim enrollment forecasts may give early college the needed attention from many K-12 and higher ed leaders, who have viewed it with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.
