NEOS AIRLINES LAUNCHING FIRST-EVER NONSTOP FLIGHTS FROM USA TO PUGLIA

New York - February 4, 2025: On June 3, 2025, Italy’s NEOS Airlines will launch the first-ever nonstop flights from the United States to the region of Puglia in southern Italy. Bari - capital of Puglia - will be the third city connected by NEOS to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, in addition to Milan and Palermo. NEOS began its North American operations in 2021 and also operates flights from Toronto to Milan.

NEOS’ 2025 Puglia flights will operate seasonally through October 15, using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners configured with 355 seats in two classes (Premium and Economy). NEOS will depart from JFK every Tuesday at 4pm, arriving at Bari’s Karol Wojtyla Airport the following morning at 8am. Flights from Bari will depart at 11:30am, arriving at JFK at 1:50pm. NEOS Airlines is a subsidiary of Alpitour World, one of Italy’s largest and fastest-growing conglomerates specializing in tourism and transportation.

“The announcement of the Bari-New York direct flight is the crowning achievement of an extraordinary year for the airports of Puglia,” says Antonio Maria Vasile, President of Aeroporti di Puglia, who added that “these flights do not arrive by chance: we were determined to ensure that we would introduce a further concrete step towards a new phase of international growth – making Puglia a region increasingly attractive, accessible and connected to the rest of the world."

“Thanks to this new Puglia route, NEOS will have a daily flight from North America to Italy with four frequencies to Milan, two to Palermo and now one to Bari,” says Carlo Stradiotti, CEO of NEOS, “significantly increasing leisure and business travel between the two countries.”

“New York-Bari is much more than an air link,” says the Puglia Region President, Michele Emiliano; “it is an embrace between Puglia and the world, a bridge that unites traditions, affection, heritage and opportunity, especially as many Americans are proud of their families’ roots in Puglia.” In 2024, more than ten million passengers flew in and out of Puglia’s airports.

“These flights are a response to our belief that the United States is one of the most promising tourism sources for Puglia,” says Aldo Patruno, director of the Puglia Region’s Tourism Department, “characterized by high-spending visitors and a burgeoning interest in Puglia’s distinctive history, culture, traditions, food and wine.
