August 2017
The Power of Connection
by Dave White, Executive Director
I recently attended the American Public Power Association (APPA) Advisory Committee summer meeting in Portland, Maine.  This meeting brings together public power association executives from across the country to discuss the issues facing our members.

By connecting with my peers, I'm able to learn about advocacy and training best practices being used throughout public power.  The discussion is already continuing beyond the meeting, with many of us looking to work together in areas such as curriculum development, quality assurance, and online learning.
There's no doubt in my mind that connecting with professionals in your industry is a guaranteed way to stay ahead of the curve and offer the best value to your customers.  That's why I am encouraging each of you to participate at  NEPPA's Annual Conference being held August 20 - 23 in Newport, RI.

I look forward to our own discussions in Newport!  Click here to download the Conference Agenda (updated 7/24/2017).

July 10, 2017 - East Montpelier, Vt: This summer, members and employees of Washington Electric Coop, a 100% renewable, 100% member-owned electric utility, are eligible to receive $10,000 off MSRP on a new 2017 Nissan Leaf all-electric vehicle from Freedom Nissan in South Burlington.

"If you're thinking about purchasing an electric vehicle, this is a fantastic time to do it," said Patty Richards, WEC General Manager.

To receive the rebate at Freedom Nissan, WEC members can simply show their WEC electric bill and supply Fleetail Certification Code B66647.
