We want you to be comfortable during your time at the conference, so here are some tips to help you come prepared.
-
How should I dress? Business casual is common, but if you feel comfortable in jeans and sandals (is it summer yet?) or a dress and heels, we welcome you exactly as you are! We recommend dressing in layers because conference room temperatures fluctuate. We will have NERSC hoodies on sale at the registration desk and there are several shops inside of Mohegan Sun.
- Don't forget your 1980s dance party costume for Wednesday night!
- This is the one year where you won't need any rain gear or heavy coats! We are going to be inside Mohegan Sun the entire week. Everything you need, under one roof!
- Comfortable shoes - Mohegan Sun is expansive.
- Swimsuit and exercise gear if you plan on taking advantage of the facilities.
- Laptop if you are attending any of the computer courses and prefer to use your own or if need to be able to do some work in-between.
- Tip money for valet parking and housekeeping.
- Money for dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings, raffle tickets, and Soothing Touch to Go Appointments.
- Credit card for incidentals when you check in to your hotel room.
- Notebook for taking class notes, and business cards if you have them.
-
We will have a mask for you in your bag, but you may want to bring your own. Masks are not required at this time, but we suggest everyone be prepared.
- Donations for the West Indian Foundation, if you are able (see list below).

NERSC ANNUAL DONATION DRIVE
|
|
Every year, the NERSC Conference Planning Committee selects a local organization to support through a donation drive. This year, we have chosen the West Indian Foundation, Inc. in Bloomfield, CT.
The West Indian Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1978 by the West Indian Social Club of Hartford, Inc. to serve as the central focus of West Indian cultural, social, and educational activities in the Metro Hartford Community. The West Indian Foundation works to embrace and support all members of the Caribbean. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving the identity, history, and unique cultural heritage of the West Indian community while continuing to educate the community at large in these traditions. The West Indian community makes up the largest immigrant population in the State of Connecticut, currently estimated at over 70,000 in the Metro Hartford area.
The West Indian Foundation offers programs in our local community as well as in the West Indies that are vital to our community. They have asked us to help support their summer enrichment program in Hartford by providing these supplies:
- Pencil cases
- Pocket folders
- Paint sets
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Scissors
- Tissue packs
- Spiral notebooks
- Mini sanitizer
- Mini water bottles
- Sticky note pads
- Bookmarks
Please bring these donations to the NERSC Registration Desk when you arrive!
Thank you for your support.

The Member of the Month will be featured on NERSC’s website, newsletter, and the YourMembership community feed. To qualify, you or the nominee exhibit some of the following criteria:
Diversity: Celebrates the differences of others.
Equity: Provides opportunities for those around them that are both equitable and fair and has an ability to thrive in an environment of respect and dignity.
Inclusion: Values the contributions of others and appreciates/maintains a culture built on fairness and mutual respect.
Belonging: Wholly accepts and includes those around you.
