At the federal level, we have received great news that the Treasury and IRS have extended the April 15, 2020, filing deadline by 90 days to July 15, 2020. We are now waiting on the IRS to release details and the specific guidance. As you know, tax payments were deferred to July 15 earlier in the week.

Your Society has been in contact with the offices of both Sen. Ben Sasse and Sen. Deb Fischer this week to put pressure on Treasury and the IRS to help make this happen.

Although we have been in contact with the state tax commissioner on several occasions this week, there has been no word yet from the Nebraska Department of Revenue. We will continue to put pressure on the Department and will provide additional information from the State of Nebraska as soon as it's released.

Your Society understands that how the state responds to this matter will make a huge difference in how you handle your clients' needs!
