March 2019

Summaries of timely road safety news, events, and alerts
Message from NETS' Executive Director, Joe McKillips
Exciting times continue here at NETS as April 2-3, 2019 will mark a significant milestone for NETS when we host our first-ever road safety conference outside the U.S. The NETS Latin America (LATAM) Regional Satellite conference is gearing up to provide an impressive lineup of keynote, member and sponsor presentations where real-world solutions will be shared on some of the most pressing LATAM road safety challenges. The conference is certain to resonate with members and non-members alike who carry a multi-national road safety footprint. If your company fits that profile, it is not too late to send a delegate who is certain to benefit from the valuable conference proceedings.  Registration remains open right up until the time of the event so feel free to register now!

Looking beyond our LATAM conference a formal SAVE-THE-DATE communication for our Annual NETS Strength IN NUMBERS® Conference , planned for October, 9-10 in Washington D.C., was also recently released.  Record attendance at last year’s conference provided yet another memorable experience and this year’s event promises to be one of our best on record as we build our momentum and attract some of the most respected road safety experts across the industry. Mark your calendars now! Additional information is forthcoming.

As a closing note, within this month’s newsletter, in addition to the timely and insightful content overall, I am pleased to highlight two recent articles capturing what it means to foster a culture of road safety leadership and best practices in your workplace from NETS Board Chair Brian Sambirsky (Shell), and NETS' Board Government Liaison Kyla Retzer (NIOSH). This is just one example of how NETS leadership continues to show its commitment to creating a proactive safety culture through the promotion of road safety policies and awareness activities in the workplace and communities in which we live.

Thanks again to everyone for your dedication to road safety and drive safely!
