Summaries of timely road safety news, events, and alerts

Message from NETS' Executive Director,
Susan Hipp

We have entered the holiday season. In the US we just celebrated Thanksgiving, and the time for both Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations around the world is fast approaching. It’s a time for visiting family, celebrating our faith for those who are religious, and sharing in the warmth and joy of kindness and giving.

But that is not the case for everyone. For many, the holidays are a sad and somber time remembering loved ones who are no longer with them to celebrate, many of whom were killed in a road crash. Too many people have been impacted by vehicle crashes resulting in injuries or fatalities.
During this season of giving, let’s focus on giving the gift of safe driving.

Buckle up while drivingMake sure all passengers are buckled as well.

Eliminate distractions while drivingIt’s more than just putting the phone down.

Don’t drive while impaired. This doesn’t just mean alcohol and illegal drugs; it also includes over the counter and prescription drugs.

Focus on wellnessGetting enough sleep, eating well, and reducing stress can have an impact on safe driving.

All of these NETS tools and resources can help promote safe driving among employees as well as family members.

From all of us at NETS, wherever you go this holiday season, may your journey be a safe one.
