Honoring the Life and Legacy of

Susan Hipp, NETS Executive Director

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Susan Hipp on January 26, 2026, following a courageous and determined battle with cancer. Susan was a beloved leader, colleague, and champion for road safety. For more than 13 years, she dedicated her heart, intellect, and unwavering commitment to the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety, leaving an indelible mark on our organization and the employers and communities we serve.

During her tenure, Susan guided NETS through significant growth and evolution, beginning as Operations Manager, advancing to Operations and Marketing Director, and ultimately leading the organization as Executive Director since 2021. Throughout these years, Susan played a central role in strengthening member engagement, expanding our programming and global reach, and advancing our mission to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities. Her dedication to the organization and to the employers we serve has had a lasting influence, and we are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions.

Earlier this month, in recognition of Susan’s extraordinary collaborative spirit and enduring legacy, the NETS Board of Directors established the Susan Hipp Road Safety Collaborative Leadership Award and had the profound honor of presenting it to Susan as its inaugural recipient.

This award honors visionary leaders who bring champions together — across organizations, sectors, and borders — to achieve safer roads than any one group could accomplish alone.

Through this award, Susan’s legacy will live on, guiding and inspiring future leaders who share her commitment to partnership, shared purpose, and collective progress in preventing crashes and saving lives.

Susan will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the NETS community and all who had the privilege of working with her.
