Holder Bedding $2,500 Match Program
LUM has a NEW sponsor in our annual "$2,500 Match Program" — Holder Bedding Inc. of Lafayette. This is an exciting new partnership because Holder Bedding is a local business and is also the preferred mattress of the LUM Emergency Shelter.

In 2013, 42 mattresses were made in Lafayette by Holder Bedding and installed at the LUM Emergency Shelter.

Please take advantage of this unique opportunity to "double your donation" to LUM and increase your impact on strengthening local families thanks to the generosity of Holder Bedding Inc. LUM is very fortunate and sincerely grateful to have this support from Holder Bedding.
Holder Bedding Inc. is a local, family owned and operated business in Lafayette providing employment opportunities in our community since 1947. LUM encourages you to shop at Holder Bedding for your next mattresses.
Port of Hope - Wonderful Success
$20,000 Raised for LUM Immigration Services
The 2nd annual LUM  Immigration Clinic benefit,  Port of Hope, was a wonderful success raising more than $20,000 for the LUM Immigration Clinic.

Port of Hope exceeded everyone’s expectations for being a fun gathering of strong advocates for the work of LUM especially of the LUM Immigration Clinic.   Clave Caribe  provided the live music which kept the crowd dancing with an occasional conga line, and several local restaurants provided the delicious international menu.

The best part of  Port of Hope was the positive energy created by the guests themselves. Thanks to all who attended and contributed. If you were not able to attend the  Port of Hope event but still wish to make an investment in the LUM Immigration Clinic, donate online—click  HERE.
The LUM Immigration Clinic is located in the LUM Office (420 N 4th Street, Lafayette). The LUM Immigration Clinic helps individuals from other countries, who are legally in the US, to navigate the often difficult and confusing Immigration and Naturalization Service bureaucracy. In 2016, 39 individuals received assistance navigating the Immigration & Naturalization Service process and five obtained citizenship; 40 participated in Citizenship Classes; & 10 participated in Spanish Conversation Tables. So far this year, the Immigration Clinic has assisted 33 families. To learn more about the important work of the LUM Immigration Clinic, click  HERE.
