Just over a month ago, the Los Angeles fires left a path of devastation and heartbreaking loss. 💔 BIASC leadership has come together to discuss how our industry can play a key role in the rebuilding efforts, helping families return to their homes and rebuild their lives. We are united in this mission to make a difference.
We are proud to introduce the REBUILD LA Alliance, which includes three new programs to engage members in advocacy and community outreach.
The REBUILD LA Alliance will serve as the central hub for three new programs to help engage members with our advocacy and community outreach efforts. As we continue our discussions and collaboration with elected leaders, government agencies, and community organizations, we must remain diligent and united in our efforts to utilize our industry expertise and experience to identify tangible solutions.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The following three programs are now open for volunteer registration, which include:
Builders Working Group
The purpose of this committee is to assist homebuilders in creating strategic solutions to address the fire crisis in Los Angeles County. The group aims to develop new policies, share expertise, and generate innovative ideas. It will work closely with BIASC's official delegation, elected officials, and relevant government agencies that are focused on the fire crisis in LA County. Membership in this working group is limited to builders, contractors, and consultants who serve on Governing Board or Chapter Boards.
Contractors/Remodelers Council
This council will work to fulfill LA County's request for BIASC to review and recommend how residents can effectively utilize contractors during the rebuilding process. It will also recommend and finalize best practice guidelines for hiring qualified contractors and contribute to the Builders Working Group.
Deliverables:
· Develop and adopt the "Rebuild LA" best practices guidebook
· Review and recommend new proposed rebuilding policy initiatives
· Collaborate with the LA County Planning Department
Goodwill Ambassadors
This program aims to recruit and mobilize volunteers from the building industry to provide essential support and guidance to fire victims as they navigate the rebuilding process. Community events and meetings will be held in partnership with government and community organizations to ensure victims can access necessary resources.
