MAY 2021
THIS MONTH WITH BIA
Tell the LA County Planning Commission to approve this housing by sending your letter of support!
Last month, the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission delayed hearing BIA Member project, Canyon View Estates. If you have not already, we need you to voice your SUPPORT for new housing in LA County, ahead of next week's Planning Commission hearing.

LA County, alone, will be responsible for providing nearly 90,000 new housing units by 2029 as projected by the Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA). Every new unit of housing in the County is necessary. Canyon View Estates will help to close that gap. Click the link below to send your letter. Learn more here.

ICYMI: BIA & BILD STATE LEGISLTIVE TOOLS WEBINAR
Thank you to everyone who participated in our State Housing Tools Webinar in April! BIA-LAV along with BIASC and BILD hosted this webinar to educate members on how to best utilize legislative tools to move common sense projects forward. This is particularly valuable information in a climate where we keep seeing projects facing hurdles for passage at planning and city council meetings.
Thank you to our moderator and panelists:
  • Haggai Mazler – KB Home
  • Adam Wood – BILD
  • Andy Henderson – BIASC
  • Shannan West – HCD
