Failed Texas Bathroom Bill on Special Session Agenda 

Texas lawmakers head back to Austin next month for a special session to debate unfinished business, and the "Bathroom Bill" is on the agenda. The controversial legislation would require  transgender people to use bathrooms for their biological sex instead of gender identity in public schools, universities and government buildings.
 
"This is overt discrimination that will put transgender students in dangerous situations - physically and emotionally," said Legacy CEO  Katy Caldwell . "Our mental health counselors are here to help families who will be struggling with this for years to come if this bill is signed into law."

Introducing Texans Living with HIV

Legacy was the location for the newest HIV empowerment project in the state: the formation of Texans Living with HIV"It will be a collective voice for  PLHIV (people living with HIV) in Texas to influence policymakers and combat stigma and isolation," said Legacy Public Policy Manager Venita Ray.
