'GOOD FAITH' STORIES

Faith and friendship are critical to church growth. As Piedmont Church rebuilds, we turn our focus to the many ways our community is relevant and extraordinary.

Best friends Paul Schroeder and Suzie Skugstad share their personal stories with us, and the tremendous impact Piedmont Church has had along the way. Enjoy this short film, Good Faith Stories by Michael Barber.

LET'S BUILD A
JULY FOURTH FLOAT

Piedmont Church is entering a float into this year's Piedmont Community 4th of July parade. We are planning on an old-fashioned float using crepe paper so all ages can participate.

We are making a dove for world peace. We will be working on it in the church parking lot July 2, 9am - 3pm and July 3, after our Sunday service. On Sunday, we will provide grilled hot dogs, lemonade, chips and popsicles for all who participate. Everyone is welcome to come to join in the fun.

On the actual day of the parade, we would like to have people walk with the float. A limited amount of t-shirts have been ordered that say Community is Our Middle Name. Also, we thought it would be fun to have some signs and some people dressed up in clothes you would wear on the Mexico Mission Trip.

TIME TO TAKE A BREATH
Please Note: Just Breathe will not meet this Tuesday

Have you been holding your breath for two years? Join Sara Hirsch and each other beginning with a small stretch then quiet meditation in the Sanctuary beginning at 5:30pm. We provide chairs, but bring your mat if you prefer or a meditation pillow.

Stephen Main, our Minister of Music, will join us from time to time with his meditations on meditation. Face coverings recommended, but not required. Ahhhhh, just breathe. Contact Sara Hirsch at sara1.hirsch1@gmail.com

OAKLAND CLEANUP EVENT

By Suzie Skugstad

Sixteen or more friends of Piedmont Church gathered on Saturday, June 11, for a park clean-up organized by Mike Bandrowski. The sun was bright and the rowers were out on the bay when our crew gathered at 9am.

After hellos, short introductions, and fresh donuts, all of us donned our working gloves and fluorescent yellow vests before heading out with pickers in hand.

Jeff Hiller and daughter, Jen, came well-equipped with magnetic 'fishing' gear to dredge up some of the metal trash at bay’s edge.

An estimated 25 bags of trash were collected as all left the site with a sense of purpose, community, and accomplishment. Thanks to all who turned out for the fun!

If you’re interested in joining our next clean-up effort August 13, contact Mike Brandrowski. mike.bandrowski@gmail.com
REFUGEE TASK FORCE
Thank you and next steps

By Scott Willis

From everyone involved in the Refugee Task Force we'd like to say thank you to those who engaged with the Putrenkov donation page or family dinner. We are now in good shape to drive forward with the family and are working hard to make their vision for life in America happen. There are still many ways that you can get involved:

- Odd jobs: Both Alex and Maryna are very capable and can help with any number of household jobs, for example, baby sitting, clean ups, box moving, window cleaning, mechanical repairs, etc.

- House sitting: If you are going to a multi-week house and are looking for a house sitter, this is a great opportunity. They keep a clean house and are good with pets.
