SIGMA is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the SSLDE split gland with our patented re-rounding feature for 24inch ductile iron pipe. Previously available in sizes 30” to 64”, the 24” was developed in response to market demand in key regions. SIGMA is dedicated to waterworks industry product innovation, as Dennis Wilson, National Business Development manager explains: “This SSLDE 24-inch with re-rounding capability is significant because it changes the ball game. Thanks to its unique design, we think this gland will be used not only as a restraint, but also used repeatedly as a portable re-rounding tool. We believe this will make life easier for contractors onsite.”
The re-rounding tool provides a solution for the occasional event when a ductile iron pipe onsite is actually “out-of-round”. The re-rounding capability of this tool allows for immediate correction of the ductile iron pipe’s diameter and ensures proper joint assembly at time of installation. By using this re-rounding feature, the installer or contractor can bring the pipe to a near round. No other external equipment is required.
