Environmental Benefit of Recycling Cardboard
Pigs don’t need to be persuaded to make nutrient-dense compost. It’s in their nature! Think of the pig pen as a giant compost facility/fertilizer factory and the pig as your large-scale materials handler & C02 emissions savor. Find out how our pigs turn cardboard boxes into all organic, all natural, crumbly black compost, the best fertilizer on the planet! Not to mention bacon and sausages!

Sage Mountain Beef
If you haven’t already heard… IT’S ROAST SEASON!

At Sage Mountain Farm, we love to honor the seasons. We prioritize the seasonality of the grasses our animals graze on, which means we can actually harvest animals with a way higher nutrient density, that’s also way better-tasting and juicier!

What we cook in the kitchen also has seasonality. For example, when there’s more sunshine outside, we may be more in the mood to grill some steaks and patties outside. And when it’s colder, while we are indoors more, bone broth and slow-cooked meats will feel extra nourishing.

Winter is a time where slowing down, and focusing on more rest, recovery, and reflection are really beneficial for us. We especially want to be getting our nutrients from our food, because we may not be getting as many vitamins from being outdoors under the sun, in the ocean with minerals, or barefoot in the soil.
