Dear Hotel Community,

We’ve been honoured to represent the hotel industry throughout British Columbia over the last several weeks as we’ve been working through the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19. Our mission to ‘ Shape the future of hospitality. We advocate, communicate, and  educate. ’ has been pivotal in our approach during this time. As part of that mission, our drive to elevate and provide support during the recent difficult challenge of navigating COVID-19, has facilitated the development and launch of the BC Hotel Association’s first Education Program

We have strategically partnered with various universities, colleges, and training programs, to seek valuable and relevant education opportunities in the form of programs, courses, sessions, and webinars to simulate the industry and encourage a constant state of learning and innovation.

The BC Hotel Association Education Program will continue post COVID-19, becoming a long-term member initiative that will allow for continued professional development by industry employees, and a platform for properties to leverage for their teams.

Our initial program launch captures key elements of the day-to-day operations for hotel properties and is applicable for all operating departments from front line positions to supervisory and senior leadership roles.

Courses will be offered at a significant discount across relevant operations such as Front-Line Training, Workplace Safety, Sales, Reservations, Revenue Management, Performance Management, Financial Leadership, and more.

At this time, we invite all hospitality businesses across the province (inclusive of B&B’s, hostels, hotels, inns/lodges/resorts, motels, recreational locations – campgrounds) -  whether you’re a member or not, to explore and sign up for upcoming courses and webinars to continue learning while we understand the next steps for recovery and resilience after this difficult time. We are pleased to extend our education programming to our partners in the tourism industry.

We welcome all feedback as we continue to build and shape this program over the coming months. Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to share industry needs, course feedback, partner opportunities, and more. You can send all feedback to Terry Duzenberry at  membership@bcha.com

Stay well and happy learning!
