Baldwin 4-6-0 Locomotives
New Paint Schemes Now Shipping
Building on the popular 4-4-0 design, the 4-6-0 (often called the Ten-Wheeler) provided extra tractive effort to haul heavy loads through mountainous terrain. This made it perfectly suited for both freight and passenger service on the quickly expanding North American rail system. By the mid-19th century, the 4-6-0 wheel arrangement was the second most popular configuration in the United States, finding a home on almost every railroad in operation at the time. Bachmann faithfully reproduces this early Baldwin-designed Ten-Wheeler in HO Scale, arriving DCC-ready, and featuring an 8-pin socket for the DCC decoder of your choice. Additionally, two new paint schemes are also shipping.
