February News
Hi Janice ,

There are new classes beginning this week! Be sure to check them out below. Hope you can join us for a fresh 2023 project.

New designs are formulating, other projects are slowly but surely moving forward. Let's check out what has been happening in the sewing room...
On the Design Wall

My newest project is progressing! The center medallion block is coming together. The supporting cast of blocks to surround the center are being drafted. I hope to have one or two of them stitched by next month.

Still playing with fabrics, embroidery threads and ribbons. How can one block make such a humongous mess in one's sewing room? This part of the journey is exciting as you never know where it may lead!

I am looking forward to watching it come together! I will keep you posted on its progress.
The French Hen is complete, the third ornament in the 12 Days of Christmas series by mmmcrafts.blogspot.com.

The embroidery for the fourth ornament is finished, and I am excited to put this one together!

These ornaments are fun stitching. The instructions are great. The patterns use basic stitches with elegant results.

This is my Uptown quilt by Sentimental Stitches to date.

It has been a couple of months since I shared this quilt. I have faithfully been working on the quilt, finishing each block of the month on time. As of February, we are up to number 14 of 21 blocks.

Have you ever worked on a project you are just not sure of, but persevered to the end hoping it would turn out as you first envisioned?

My journey with this quilt is just that, each month hoping it will all come together in the end, but each month not so sure.

However, I am enjoying stitching with my sisters and that is what this quilt is all about for me.
I forgot to share with you last month the 2022 Christmas project I worked on for sister gifts.

Hubby made the wooden turning spindle thread holder and I embroidered the pincushions.

Each pincushion held some of Mom's favorite flowers. Each bird charm on the individual pincushion had a personal memory for the recipient.

It was a busy sewing room in November and December!

Toned Down Circle Sampler (also available as a webinar class)
2nd Saturday of each month, February 2023 through July 2023
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Cinnamon's Quilt Shoppe, Jacksonville, FL

This is a fun, addicting, and creative project by Sue Spargo! Join Jan as you hand embroidery 1” wool circles on a 17.5” x 16” sampler.

Stitch the circles exactly as Sue designed them in the pattern, use some of the designs Jan included on her sampler, OR design some of your own circles. You will totally be amazed what fits on a 1” circle and how easy these designs are to stitch!

In class you will make the circle foundation, learn stitches used in Sue’s designs, how to mark designs on the circles, how to create your own designs, and be inspired to finish this project along side others sharing the joy with you!

This class will be available on site at Cinnamons Quilt Shop as well as via WebEx for our out-of-town customers. Contact the shop to sign up for the WebEx class.

Stitching Companions
Lately we have had some absolutely beautiful days here in Florida. In fact we broke a record with a high of 87 the end of January!

Doogan was enjoying the sunshine and the soft gentle breeze while Mom did a little stitching.

He is my faithful and constant companion indoors and out.
In Closing
