This year's World Alzheimer's Day event in Ajax was a full day of events recognizing those in Durham Region living with dementia and their care partners. We were grateful to have so many people join us to celebrate our new location in Ajax and to learn more about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Here are some highlights from the day.

Flag Raising

Town of Ajax Mayor Shaun Collier along with members of the Ajax Council, representatives from Ajax MPP Patrice Barnes' office and MP Mark Holland's office attended our flag raising at Pat Bayly Square.

Our new Ajax Location

We celebrated the opening of our new satellite location in the Ajax Community Centre with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Contact us for our hours or information regarding programs and services offered in Ajax.

ASDR Recognition Awards

We recognized members of the community that have shown exemplary support to ASDR over the past year. We are grateful to have so many wonderful supporters and community partners.

Keynote Speaker Dr. Amer Burhan

Dr. Burhan from Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences provided an insightful and engaging talk on the latest in Dementia Research. Contact us for more information on the data and studies shared.

Virtual Dementia Tours

We had 19 people participate in our Virtual Dementia Tour. Thank you to everyone who took part in this hands-on experience. VDT allows caregivers an opportunity to experience for themselves the challenges faced by those living with dementia. Contact us to book your Virtual Dementia Tour.
