Dear Friend,

We have some very exciting news! Two other generous anonymous donors have offered to put in an extra 50K bringing the total Matching Gift to $100,000! Please help us reach our new goal before December 31st!

Tyndale St-Georges is happy to share with you that our Centre is back in full swing with all activities and programs being held in person. We continue to navigate the ever changing public health guidelines and have adapted to ensure the environment is safe for all participants! We have seen an increase in demand for our programs from the community and in order to meet these demands we need your help! Thanks to 5 anonymous donors, all donations made until December 31st, 2021 will be matched up to $100,000! Your support will help to maintain critical services here at Tyndale St-Georges, including the High School Perseverance Program (HSPP). “On my first day at Tyndale, I was so nervous, I thought I was going to be sick. I had a lump in my throat, and my heart was racing. I had no idea what to expect. I was afraid that no one would talk to me and I would fail.

I was struggling in Math, English and French in grade 7 so my mom and I made the decision to enroll me in Tyndale’s High School Perseverance Program. Some of my high school friends ended up taking the wrong path and dropping out of school. I did not want that to happen to me.

There were so many things I learned at Tyndale but the most important was to ‘work first and play later’. I learned to get my homework done and not to procrastinate after school. If I went home from school instead of coming to Tyndale, there were so many distractions: TV, Facebook, texting, eating, playing with my dog… I just couldn’t get anything done. So I always came to Tyndale after school. At Tyndale, I was supported and the educators and tutors cared about me and wanted me to succeed. They were always in my corner. I wanted to make them proud of me.

Tyndale helped me in so many ways; I overcame my shyness, I became more confident, I learned to ask for and accept help, I learned to manage my homework and to stay on track. I met so many wonderful people, including my best friend. I also started helping the younger kids. There was a new student who recently immigrated to Canada, she struggled with English and was very shy. I could relate. Every day I would talk to her, ask her how she was doing and coax a small smile from her lips. I wanted her to feel like she belonged to my Tyndale family.

I graduated from High School last June with flying marks in math when I was once struggling to pass. My ambitions are to finish CEGEP and then move on to Film School in Toronto. Even though I am excited about what the future holds, I am also sad to be leaving my Tyndale family.

Tyndale helped me believe in myself and gave me the tools to succeed. With Tyndale’s help, I learned to dream big and achieve. Thank you, Tyndale!”
