Center Depressed Flatcars (sometimes referred to as Heavy Capacity Flatcars) are equipped with an extra axle to support additional weight, while the depressed center design allows the car to handle excess-height loads. Typically used in the transportation of heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or electrical transformers, these cars have found use in uncommon moves since the mid-20th century and can still be found in service today. Bachmann’s Center Depressed Flatcars are equipped with 90-Ton Buckeye three axle trucks and now arrive in two new prototypical paint schemes. Each car is fully assembled and features metal wheels, authentic detail, and body-mounted E-Z Mate® Mark II knuckle couplers. |
