What Raw Pet Food Has To Offer Your Pet

What are the benefits of raw pet food? Many. Raw pet food is essentially quality biological appropriate uncooked food.

Food that has not had the ENZYMES cooked out of it. Why is this SO good for our cats and dogs? Enzymes are life enhancing and immune supportive.

This is the equivalent to us- pet parents eating a living plant based diet. Fresh veggies, salads, fruits, sprouts etc. One of the main reasons this is so beneficial to our health is that this 'raw' food is full of enzymes.

Here is a condensed list of the benefits:

  • Improved Digestion: Enzymes help break down food into smaller, more easily absorbed nutrients. This can lead to better digestion and nutrient absorption, ensuring that pets get the most from their meals.

  • Enhanced Nutrient Utilization: By aiding in the breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats, enzymes ensure that pets can utilize the nutrients more efficiently, leading to improved energy levels and overall vitality.

  • Reduction of Gastrointestinal Issues: Enzymes can help reduce issues such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea by ensuring food is thoroughly digested. This is particularly beneficial for pets with sensitive stomachs or digestive disorders.

  • Support for Immune Function: Proper digestion and nutrient absorption are critical for a robust immune system. Enzymes help maintain gut health, which is closely linked to immune function.

  • Better Skin and Coat Health: Enhanced nutrient absorption due to enzyme activity can lead to healthier skin and a shinier coat, as the body is better able to use essential fatty acids and other nutrients necessary for skin and fur health.

  • Weight Management: Efficient digestion and nutrient absorption can help maintain a healthy weight by ensuring that pets get the right amount of nutrients without overeating.

  • Detoxification: Enzymes support the body's natural detoxification processes by breaking down toxins and waste products, promoting overall health.

Pet Of The Month

Meet Apollo

Apollo, our beloved mustang rescue made his transition just this past July 13th. He had a broken leg.

When Apollo came to be with his people he was rescued from the BLM Facility. His mother was rounded up and taken from the wild of the Fallon Range of Nevada when he was in utero. Subsequently born in captivity. He was raised in the BLM Facility. Far from the ideal of any horse much less a wild one. Apollo became lead of over 100- head herd. He was the boss. But He was getting ready to be shipped off to New York to his demise.

Instead, he was lovingly brought home to those who could understand the needs of a horse rescued from such a situation and yet the idea of domestication completely foreign to the caliber of horse of that of Apollo.

Apollo would like to be remembered for lessons he taught and the passive leadership he exuded. He excelled at keeping peace in the pasture and demonstrated true leadership within the herd that surrounded him including people. You might be asking what are the attributes of a passive leader?

  • Gentle Leadership
  • Independent Thinker
  • Compassionate
  • Peacekeeper

We all have much to learn from Apollo even now. Though Apollo has shed his physical form, he has not left us. Only his form has changed and he will always remain as the Spirit he is. He continues lending us his horse power.

Question Of The Day

Here is an actual question asked earlier this month by a Pet Parent who is currently on a protocol herself. Names have been changed for consideration. Here is our correspondence ....

Betty:

"I don’t know the ins and outs of what the “Protocol” actually is and its function in the program. Sorry, about my questions etc. but this is new to me and I want to understand all of it. It is fascinating and makes sense it’s just that it is so new to me and in some ways beyond my comprehension. I appreciate your patience with me. I very much understand the importance of intelligently taking care of our bodies."

My Response:

Hello Betty,

In receiving your response yesterday lets see if we can make things a little clearer and you’ll also have this for future reference.

You are correct in saying this is ‘very new’. Traditional and western medicine utilize a different set of principles than that of holistic healing and the framework upon which it is based. The actual concepts of frequency and energy healing are not new though, but seem to have vanished from the mainstream understanding.

When we refer to ‘protocol’ that is primarily the custom made drops and pellets that we formulate for you and send to you.

The SET of 4-5 remedies including: blends for metabolism, immune system, physiology, organ support, and your Flower Essence are the foundation of your long and short term healing protocol. These remedies are addressing your immune system, metabolism, and physiology at a very deep level

Hence, the rapid notable change in frequency of and intensity of the bruising you initially sought help for. You also reported you don’t have to force yourself to take your daily 2 mile walks. You felt energy has increased and you also mentioned you woke from sleep feeling more rested. These to me are signs your protocol is working!!

You have also expressed signs of detoxification: some tiredness, headaches and heavy head in the afternoon. Detoxification is your body “letting go” of accumulated toxins, chemicals, etc …. This also is a sign that the protocol is doing its exact job. People generally experience relief from symptoms by measurable improvements while simultaneously experiencing detox symptoms. They happen simultaneously.

The function of the protocol is to help with immediate concerns AND continue the healing process at a deep level to create longevity and act as prevention. Typically people/pets notice changes quite rapidly (as you did) and continue on their protocol for the long term to maintain improved health and on-going support.

These protocols help in the short term but are also designed for long term maintenance. Some people may only take a protocol till the presenting concern is appearingly gone. (i.e. bruising) and that is fine too. But the bruising in your case is caused by a deeper issue and if possible would serve you in the long run to keep health maintained by the remedies. Hair loss is also another symptom of a deeper issue related to the need to eliminate toxicity from the body and support a healthy metabolism.

My function as a holistic practitioner is never to convince someone that they should do something. But to inform, educate and let one determine if this seems the most beneficial route for an individual.

It's HARVEST Time! What Have You Planted

Harvest is here! It is that time of year where the temperatures start to cool down a bit, the colors of the plants and trees begin turning their beautiful shades of colors, and we receive the bounty of food from the plant kingdom that feeds us all so well.

How grateful we are for the bounty that we receive from the work and effort we have put into the season. Our love and gratitude to our family and friends, employer if we work for someone and customers if we are self employed.

It is truly a time to rejoice and reflect on what has transpired in our lives this year and harvest the blessings from the occurrences positive as well as the less desirable situations that have come about to have their blessings revealed and harvested as well. Often harder to do but once harvested and understood much more fruitful for our lives and relationships with our neighbors family and friends.

On A Personal Note

Harvested from the Pasture in June

Final product after 3 months cooking in the sun!

Sun-Made St. John's Wort Healing Oil

We made our annual homemade, sun-made St. John's Wort Oil! We harvested the flower tops from right here on the property.

Its botanical name is Hypericum Perforatum. Most people have heard of St. John's Wort in helping treat depression but it also has a wide of array of uses. Its original uses were used for calming the nervous system and the nerves.

We cook this in the sun for 90 days and as you can tell by the color, the sun extracts the hypericum beautifully into the this rich, red, silky oil.

Made into an oil infusion and used topically is wonderful for nerve pain and skin. An amazing thing about St. John's Wort is that it helps regenerate new cells. Especially in the case of nerve damage but anything skin related as well.

The body will naturally do this on its own but the herb will help it along and assist in the process potentially encouraging the natural process.

St. John's Wort is like a salve to burns, cuts, scrapes, wounds etc. It makes a beautiful base to skin cream or salve if you make your own.

Our personal favorite use of St. John's Wort Oil is to put on the feet at night before settling into meditation. It helps to calm the mind and assists in preparing for restful sleep.

We typically make a gallon or two of oil to have on hand throughout the year till the following season.

If you are interested in getting some St. John's Wort Oil from us, we'll be happy to share what we have - just reach out to us. Batch is small. We'll have 4 oz bottles for $35 ~

Thank You for being part of the Happy Tails community. If you are brand new ~ Welcome! We look forward to serving you and and your Animals.
