About this Training Series

Georgetown University’s Center of Excellence (COE) for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) designed this online training to help states, tribes, territories, and communities successfully implement their IECMHC programs. Guided by the COE’s brand-new Program Planning and Reflection Tool (PPRT), this exciting series will walk participants through each of the five core program components – program structure, program evaluation, workforce, equity, and policy & financing – and help programs identify specific areas for growth. Following the ECHO training format, participants will learn best practices from content experts and benefit from participants’ exchange of ideas. Program participants will be expected to share “real world” examples of issues or challenges they are experiencing in their program development and enhancement process, and to engage in group problem-solving discussions. This training series is divided into seven 2-hour virtual training sessions, which will occur monthly from October 2022 through April 2023.

Dates: October 4th, November 8th, December 13th, January 10th, February 14th, March 7th, & April 11.Time: 12 pm –2 pm ET
Who Should Apply?

IECMHC programs at various points of implementation – from those that are just getting started to those that are more established, but recognize a need for further development across core program areas. Programs will be asked to identify a team delegation, including a program director, mental health consultant, and other key program implementation staff. All team delegation members should be affiliated with or employed by the IECMHC program - as opposed to individuals who simply represent the community-based setting(s) in which consultation services are delivered.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a program?

  • For this training opportunity, we are defining an IECMHC program as multiple mental health consultants working in the community implementing IECMHC services consistently under leadership. We are NOT referring to an independent IECMH consultant working within a Head Start program (as an example). As a reminder, programs do not need to be fully "up and running" to apply.

What if this opportunity isn’t a good fit?

  • The CoE for IECMHC has many, MANY additional opportunities to learn all the information that will be covered in the ECHO! The PPRT will be available for all in the Fall and of course, our individualized TA is always available!

Is there a cost?

  • There is no cost.

When is the application due?

  • The application is due by COB on Monday, Aug 8, 2022.

How is this different from the Certificate Program in IECMHC?

  • Please see table below.

What if I am already receiving TA from the CoE?

  • You are welcome to apply! Please understand that space is limited and priority is given to programs not receiving support, through the CoE or related projects
