Ohio voters like Vivek Ramaswamy and a constitutional amendment protecting the right to hunt and fish according to a new poll conducted this month on behalf of T. Roosevelt Action.
Next Fall, voters will choose a new governor; and legislators are currently considering SJR8, a proposal which would place an amendment on the ballot establishing a constitutional right to hunt and fish.
Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish
At the start of the survey, voters are overwhelmingly supportive of a constitutional amendment to protect the right to hunt and fish in Ohio. The amendment initially leads by a 72% margin, with 79% of voters saying they support the amendment.
Even after seven separate negative messages against the amendment were tested, support remained high at 62% overall. It is extremely unlikely that an opposition campaign would be able to effectively communicate these negative messages to voters in universal manner, but even in this worst-case scenario support for the amendment remains strong.
Voters particularly like knowing that environmentalists support the amendment to humanely control the wildlife and that hunting and fishing helps fund conservation and preservation efforts in the state.
