This car is No. 1225 of a limited edition run of 5009 special models built at Ford’s Dearborn Assembly Plant. Quick in its time (and still reasonably so), with its “last of the 302” V8s, it will sprint to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 14.7 seconds at 96 mph, with a top speed of 137 mph (and that was in its stock form, now likely even quicker with all its mods). It has stopping power to match, with much larger brake rotors than the normal GT (13.0 in. front and 11.4 in. at the rear, vs. the standard 10.8 in. and 10.5 in. rotors). Dual-piston front calipers and standard ABS rounded out the race-ready brake package – now enhanced by cross-drilled rotors and SS brake lines. Factory options & features include keyless entry leather seats and a Mach 460 audio system.
Mustang GTs have always sounded good. With its Ford Motorsport ceramic coated stainless steel “shorty” headers, and a 2.5 in. Flowmaster exhaust, with H-pipe, this one sounds even better. Other modifications include a high volume fuel pump with an a-pillar mounted fuel pressure gage, an Optima red battery with aluminum hold-down, a built in and electronically controlled nitrous oxide injection system, Corbeau front seats, Hurst short throw shifter, and many others (see the complete list in the photo gallery). All modifications are “bolt-on”, with original parts included, so all are reversible, if desired. It rides on its special Cobra wheels with Goodyear Eagle ZR45 tires.
This car is in excellent condition, has never been driven on salted roads, and has had no accidents reported. It has always been owned and well cared for by enthusiasts, and despite modifications, has been driven properly and never abused, so it’s still strong and tight and drives as is should – well.
It comes with a full car cover, the stock hood (1996 hood and tail lights installed) seats (power driver’s seat) and all other original parts – as well as records, original sales literature, and a certificate of authenticity, with its clean Carfax report on request.
