Intuitive Surgical, a publicly traded company that makes robotic-assisted surgical systems, has announced plans to expand its presence in Peachtree Corners, investing over $500 million into its current campus and creating more than 1,200 high-paying jobs.

Valmet moving to Davinci Court

Valmet, the leading global developer and supplier of process technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries, is moving
into 24,000 square feet at 3720 Davinci Court in Peachtree Corners. Valmet's head office is in Espoo, Finland and its shares are listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki. The company is moving approximately 110 people from Duluth to Peachtree Corners and making a capital investment of about $840,000, according to property owner Banyan Street Capital.

New Restaurants add to options
Two new restaurants have opened in Peachtree Corners with more on the way. Stäge Kitchen & Bar has opened in the former Noble Fin location at 5260 Peachtree Parkway. Open for evening dining, the menu includes steak, seafood, pasta, tapas, and sushi.

And Fly Chef Atlanta, located in the old Outback shopping center (4015 Holcomb Bridge Road) celebrated its grand opening on July 23. Chef Greg serves African and American dishes including its world famous Nigerian jollof to Fufu and Egusi soup.

Intuitive Surgical is bringing 1,200 new workers to the city and adding more than 750,000 square feet to its existing Peachtree Corners footprint. And they are bringing good-paying jobs with average salaries of about $130,000 a year. Previously vacant building gets facelift, attracts new businesses

The owners of 4350 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. are investing more than $750,000 in the building to make room for a new tenant and enable two existing tenants to expand. New to the location is ThreadStudio, a custom print shop known for printing personalized socks,"PupSocks." Hardware supplier KP Direct is expanding, as well as Highmark Interiors. Much of the work involves demolition, partitions, electrical, lighting, and finishes.
