Respiratory Health Fest Highlights!

We held our very first annual Respiratory Health Fest this past August 10, 2024 at our North Richmond Farm!

This event was held to create a safe space where our community could express their need for clean air. Our community struggles during fire season, with asthma rates being two times greater in North Richmond! Our community's lungs are overburdened with pollution due to the industrial zoning of our community, with Chevron being the leading corporation that pollutes our air.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Respiratory Health Fest and made your voices heard!

Elisa's Artwork: An Invitation To Reflect

May These Medicines Fuel Our Collective Liberation

Artwork by Elisa

This art piece is meant to take people back to any experiences they may have had of hazy skies during the various fires that have happened throughout the Bay Area. It’s meant to invite people to reflect on what our skies and waters will look like in the coming years thanks to the exploitative relationship capitalism has sustained with the Earth.

Most of all though, this painting is meant to ignite some hope and faith in not only herbal medicines, but in our abilities to nurture ‘the collective’. The healing of our planet is connected to the healing of our communities. Just as Chevron is occupying land here in Richmond, it is also occupying land in Palestine.

It’s time that we let go of individualism, banish colonialism from occupying our minds, and instead share and exchange love in all its many forms.
