Last month's Kitchen and Bath Industry show, where over 1,000 exhibitors released new products, gave us a peak into this year's trends. Read on to find out the top four.

Outdoor Kitchens

Cooking outside is a welcome change from the usual routine, and it's just as easy to cook in an outdoor kitchen as it is in an indoor one. Place an outdoor kitchen near your indoor one so it's easy to carry food items back and forth. Outdoor grills, ice makers, and mini refrigerators are popular appliances for outdoor kitchens. Some require built-in installation; others are freestanding and can be moved if needed. And of course, stainless steel has been a perennial choice of materials because of its longevity outdoors.

"Cool" Medicine Cabinets

Keep cold beverages on-hand with the latest in medicine cabinets. A portion of it includes refrigeration-perfect for nail polish, or organic skin products (with no preservatives), or medications that need to be kept cold.

Low-Flow Toilets

Manufacturers are getting smart about reducing toilet and faucet water use, and are offering dual flush technology, which allows for two different flushing options: .5 and 1.5 gallons per flush.

Docking/Charging Stations

"Office Space" in the kitchen is morphing. It's becoming a message center and docking station. Charging cords and outlets for hand-held devices that live in a counter top cubbyhole can be hidden with a slide-up door, and upper areas containing pockets for kids' stuff, personalized mail slots, key hooks, and electronics storage can be masked by doors that close when guests arrive.
