What is non-Newtonian fluid?

In non-Newtonian fluids, viscosity can change when under force to either more liquid or more solid. You may have come across it and didn’t know it. Have you ever mixed corn starch and water? The mixture is a perfect example of non-Newtonian fluid. When it was punched or hit it became impenetrable but a soft touch easily breaks the surface.
