Deadline Approaching to Apply for Small CBO Capacity-Building RFP | |
If you have been operating a small community-based organization (CBO) for at least two years and need some assistance to scale up, consider applying for the Request for Proposal (RFP) released by The Children’s Trust on April 3 for our Small CBO Capacity-Building initiative. If approved for funding, executive directors will participate in learning sessions, work with peer group and receive professional coaching while using funding to complete capacity-building growth plans. With Board approval on April 17 of the new Youth Development funding cycle, please plan to attend the important session below. Registration details are coming soon.
Virtual Fiscal Onboarding Session: Friday, April 28 from 2-3:30 p.m. This session is intended to provide an overview of fiscal processes, compliance, The Trust Budget Manual and Trust Central roles. Providers are expected to attend one session. Emails to register for specific dates will be available soon. Please ensure that all staff members that are essential to contracting and fiscal processes attend; this includes your fiscal and programmatic management staff.
Youth Development Kick-Off: Wednesday, May 3, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The Children's Trust will host a Youth Development Kick-Off meeting for all funded Youth Development programs. The meeting will take place in person at the University of Miami. The purpose of this meeting is to share important onboarding, contracting, and partnership information for the new funding cycle. Please ensure that all staff members who are essential to our partnership attend; this includes your executive director/CEO and management staff.

Community Engagement Manager -($55,968 Annual)
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for performing a variety of community driven duties with an emphasis on maintaining contact with community groups, parents and other caregivers, providing support to residents on children’s needs, as well as evaluating and responding to community needs concerning children. The incumbent exercises independence of action and will possess considerable knowledge of community activities and needs for children and families and use considerable professional judgment in the performance of community engagement work.
Administrative Services Coordinator, Human Resources - ($48,668 Annual)
This Administrative Services Coordinator – Human Resources, is responsible for assisting in a variety of functions related to the administrative services of The Children’s Trust’s operations which include continuous quality improvement, planning, coordination, and management of special projects related to the area of Human Resources.
This position includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the development of procedures, project management, and assigned tasks related to Human Resources matters.
Research & Evaluation Analyst - ($55,968 Annual)
The Research and Evaluation Analyst is a critical member of both cross- and inter-departmental teams at The Children’s Trust who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to the design and effectiveness of various child, youth and family services. Primary responsibilities include: contributing to effective program and systems designs for The Children’s Trust’s priority investments in child, youth and family services; designing and maintaining sound data collection tools and systems to capture meaningful program, operational and community data in a user-friendly, accessible manner; and analyzing and making meaning from available data to tell our stories using compelling visualizations and reports, with an intentional focus on the specific audience and purpose of the message.

Available Opportunities at Breakthrough Miami * | |
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR: The Development Director will support the advancement functions of the organization, including building, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of donors for annual and multi-year gifts. The Director will focus on growing corporate giving. Responsibilities will include direct fundraising, fundraising activities coordination, stewardship and advancement-related administrative support in order to strengthen our work with donors and partners, thereby advancing mission, programs and impact.
The successful candidate will be authentically committed to mission, and be a strategic, flexible, and positive thinker responsible for direct fundraising.
ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTOR: The Assistant Site Director (ASD) is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services that most directly affect Breakthrough Miami Scholars and families. An ASD oversees campus or site logistics, unpaid student volunteers and some stipended positions, such as Teaching Fellows. As an ambassador of the program, the ASD builds supportive relationships with students, parents, schools, the community and other stakeholders to ensure the academic and socio-enrichment success of all Breakthrough Scholars.
The individual in this role is organized, self-motivated and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
SITE DIRECTOR: The Site Director manages the staff and day-to-day operations of the school-year and summer programs at one of Breakthrough Miami’s six host school sites. This position is responsible for ensuring all program operations are aligned with Breakthrough Miami’s vision, mission and goals; and for continuously improving educational enrichment and operational processes.
The individual in this role is able to operate effectively in diverse environments, achieve outcomes in a flexible, fast-paced environment, lead change and inspire others to action, and communicate consistently and effectively.
SUMMER INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES: Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content-specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their ongoing work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This role starts on June 10, 2023, and ends on August 4, 2023.
The individuals in this role must have a State of Florida Teaching Certificate or equivalent; an outstanding track record as a professional classroom teacher; exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to deliver positive, constructive and honest feedback; and creativity, energy and commitment to excellence.
SUMMER SITE COORDINATORS: Summer Site Coordinators (SSCs) are critical members of the summer administrative team and help ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Summer Institute at their assigned site. SSCs train, coordinate and oversee volunteers; supervise the summer food service program for Scholars and staff; order and keep an inventory of program supplies; coordinate general office administration; manage the Scholar drop-off and pick-up process; and assist with the execution of special events. This position starts on June 10, 2023 and ends on August 4, 2023.
The individuals in this role must have a strong academic record with a minimum of two years of college completion; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
SUMMER ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTORS: Summer Assistant Site Directors (SASDs) work collaboratively with full-time directors at their assigned site to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and work closely with Scholars and their families, as well as Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met. This position starts on June 10, 2023, and ends on August 4, 2023.
The individuals in this role must have a bachelor’s degree; a high degree of flexibility in order to multitask between projects; exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in many different environments with people from diverse backgrounds; comfort and confidence in working with children and adults; and creativity, energy, and a commitment to excellence.
