More About National Weather Forecasting

PGANE Members will receive:

  • Weekly Notices: You will continue to receive weekly weather notices on the same schedule you are accustomed to, ensuring that you are always well-informed about upcoming weather conditions.
  • Enhanced Services: National Weather Forecasting brings a wealth of experience and technological advancements to the table. They are one of the very few weather services that actually has their own model (called the SuperBlend), which they feel is significantly more precise than the other models in use today, allowing us to provide you with more precise and reliable weather information.
  • Online Access to Degree Day Data: One of the most significant enhancements with this change is the introduction of a user-friendly website. National Weather Forecasting’s website will allow you to access degree day data from hundreds of weather stations located throughout many states, on your schedule. This valuable resource will assist you in making informed decisions and optimizing your operations. They will be introducing more content on the dashboard in the coming weeks so members will have access to more information before winter.

Winter Weather Webinar Recap

On October 20th PGANE's new weather service hosted a winter weather forecasting webinar to provide members the opportunity to meet our new weather service, National Weather Forecasting, and get their assessment of the atmospheric and oceanic features that will drive the 2023-2024 winter season. Here's a simplistic overview of what was covered:

  • Looks like an El Nino flavored winter
  • They expect the coldest weather in February and March
  • Heavier than normal snowfall possible Southern New England southward
  • Near normal temps Northern New England but colder than normal elsewhere
  • November and December MAY bring some more periods of anomalous warmth.
  • Our new service from National Weather Forecasting provides forecasts and heating degree-day data for 200 locations across the Northeast at no charge for PGANE members. We can add any region in the United States – just let us know what you need!
