The story behind the painting...

It’s summertime. We’re enjoying a beautiful night outside around the campfire with friends. Everyone is having a good time…that is everyone except my teenage daughter. She hides in her sweatshirt and stares at her phone, ignoring everyone else. She’s not having a good time. Her phone battery is dying. There are bugs. She’s cold. She wants to go home. She has plenty of socialization through her screen.

More from the Leftovers series:

“Leftovers” is a series of small abstract and landscape paintings and that are each inspired by one of my larger works. Each small painting is created using only “leftover” paint from the larger painting.
