Become a Work for Water Collaborative Charter Member

With significant challenges recruiting and retaining the next generation of talent, the water industry is facing a shortage of skilled workers to fill critical roles. To address these challenges, NEWEA and NEWWA launched the Work for Water Collaborative in 2022, a regional effort designed to promote water careers and support workforce development.

Since 2022, this collaborative yielded a comprehensive Strategic Plan and Roadmap to outline a clear path forward to significantly improve the development of New England's water workforce.

To advance this effort, we are currently accepting applications for Charter Members to join the New England Work for Water Collaborative. Your organization is invited to join us as one of our founding Charter Members.

Since opening member applications in May 2025, we have raised nearly $100,000 through the generous contributions of our Charter Members. Our goal is to raise $250,000 by October 1, 2025 to kick-start the collaborative, and with your support, we can achieve meaningful progress in building a sustainable water workforce for New England.

As a 100% independently funded, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, the donations we receive help fund our industry-leading training, educational, advocacy, and outreach programs, including technical events attended by more than 3,000 water professionals annually, outreach presentations that have reached more than 4,000 students to date, and scholarships that provide nearly $10,000 annually to students furthering their studies in water environment education.

We appreciate your support of NEWEA!
