It has been nearly a year and a half since we've been able to host an in-person event, but last month, we were able to meet in-person for a Poo and Brew, which included a tour of the York Sewer District and a reception at York Beach Brewing Company.
The in-person events continue into this month, with the Ops Challenge Training Day, Committee Member Appreciation Event, and Women's Environmental Network's Co-Ed event all taking place in the coming weeks. We're so looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces.
We are continuing to plan additional in-person and hybrid events for this fall, including our CSO/Wet Weather Issues Conference, Northeast Residuals and Biosolids Conference, and the Joint Information Technology/Asset Management Fair. We'll also be hosting the virtual Joint NEWEA/PNCWA Collection Systems Conference. More information about these events, including registration and the program, will be available soon.
Additionally, we are hard at work preparing for our 2022 Annual Conference & Exhibit, which we are planning to host in a hybrid in-person/virtual format. The health and safety of all event participants remains our top priority, and the NEWEA Office and Meeting Management Council will continue to follow local, state, and federal protocols when developing event guidelines. More information, including event sponsorship, exhibit registration, and the program will be available in the coming months.
Check out the rest of the newsletter for more on committee news and details on upcoming events. Until next newsletter, we hope everyone has a great month and stays healthy.
As always, we invite you to contact Jordan Gosselin at jgosselin@newea.org with committee news and updates you would like to share in future editions.

August is National Water Quality Month! Established in 2005 by the Environmental Protection Agency, National Water Quality Month promotes discussion about how individuals and communities can protect our water resources.
Throughout this month, NEWEA will be highlighting four sources of water quality contamination via posts on our social media channels, with the intention to engage our followers, specifically those who may not be directly involved with working in the water industry, about the behavior and contaminants that threaten our water resources, how water industry professionals are performing essential work to protect our water environment, and what communities and individuals can be doing to help.
NEWEA will be encouraging donations throughout this month to support the current and future work of NEWEA, our committees, and water industry professionals. If you would like to support these efforts, please visit our Donations page today.
