Register for the 2026 Annual Conference by January 2 to Get the Best Rate


Registration is open for our 2026 Annual Conference & Exhibit! With 37 technical sessions, over 200 exhibit booths, student poster displays, and more, there are lots of opportunities to learn, network, and earn Training Contact Hours (TCHs). Register by January 2, 2026 to get the best rate.

Our sponsorship and advertising programs allow companies to build brand awareness with key influencers in the water quality industry and leverage marketing opportunities at our Annual Conference, Spring Meeting, specialty conferences, and networking events, as well as in our event programs and NEWEA Journal.

NEWEA Invites Water Innovators to Apply for a Spot in our 2026 Innovation Pavilion


Early and growth stage companies with innovative solutions for the water industry are invited to apply to exhibit at NEWEA'S 2026 Innovation Pavilion. This event is taking place Tuesday, January 27 as part of NEWEA's Annual Conference and will feature exhibitors showcasing their water innovations and water innovation programming.

NEWEA will be hosting a Career Fair at the 2026 Annual Conference from 1:00 – 4:30 PM on Monday, January 26. A space will be available to do interviews. Companies are invited to exhibit at this event to meet with students and young professionals looking for water industry career opportunities.

Young Professionals Summit Sponsor/Attendee Registration is Open


NEWEA and New England Water Works Associations' (NEWWA) Young Professionals Committees are proud to present their annual Young Professionals (YP) Summit, taking place on Sunday, January 25. This event brings together YPs from the water industry for a full day program highlighting leadership and technical skills that will help develop these professionals into industry leaders.

The Deadline to Submit a Student Poster Competition Abstract is December 5


Undergraduate and graduate students participating in research or a class project on water pollution control, water quality, hazardous waste, or other environmental engineering topics are invited to submit an abstract for NEWEA's 2026 Student Poster Competition.

Book Your Room at Boston Marriott Copley Place


NEWEA's 2026 Annual Conference hotel room block at the Boston Marriott Copley Place offers rooms starting at $234 per night. Group rates are subject to date and space availability. Deadline to reserve a room at the group rate is January 2, 2026.

2026 Spring Meeting Call for Abstracts

NEWEA invites the submission of abstracts for presentation at the upcoming 2026 Spring Meeting & Exhibit, taking place May 17-20 at the Sea Crest Beach Resort in North Falmouth, MA.


This annual meeting attracts 300 engineers, consultants, scientists, operators, and students and features a variety of technical sessions, exhibitors displays, and the Operations Challenge competition. This meeting provides an opportunity for professional exchange of information and state-of-the-art concepts in wastewater treatment and water environment issues in a relaxed setting. 


Please consider submitting an abstract on water quality topics such as:


  • Biosolids
  • Clean Water Infrastructure Stories
  • Collection Systems
  • Infrastructure Funding
  • Resiliency
  • Small Communities/On-site Systems
  • Spotlight on Clean Water Professionals
  • Stormwater/Flood Detection


Abstracts are due by January 30, 2026.

2026 Mentoring Program

The enrollment deadline for the Young Professionals Committee's Mentoring Program is approaching!


This program was created with the goal of forming a working relationship between those in the beginning of their water industry careers and seasoned professionals.


The program will involve a commitment from mentors and mentees from January 2026 until January 2027. During that time, it is requested that mentors and mentees have an in-person or phone meeting at least once every three months. A new class of mentees will be enrolled at the start of each cycle, but mentees and mentors are encouraged to maintain contact beyond completion of the program at the 2027 Annual Conference.


Submit an application by December 12, 2025 to be considered for this cycle of the program.

Newest Water Champions Video is Now Live

The newest installment of NEWEA's Water Champions series is now available on NEWEA's YouTube channel!


The Water Champions series, a subset of the Water for Life campaign, showcases leaders in the water sector sharing their success stories and highlighting how water industry work is essential to protecting our communities and water resources.


In this installment, Ashley Demarey, Deputy Director of Field Services at Springfield Water & Sewer Commission, describes the crucial work she and other water professionals perform, the importance of promoting public awareness of opportunities for rewarding water industry jobs, and how to pursue careers in water.

Connecticut: Save the date for CTWEA's Operations Forum, taking place in Plantsville, CT on February 20, 2026.


Maine: Join MEWEA for Water Professionals Night at the Maine Mariners game on January 17. The game will feature a Concession Fundraiser to raise money for ME's Operations Challenge team.


Massachusetts: Enrollment is now open for advertising in MAWEA's 2026 newsletters. The enrollment deadline for the first issue of 2026 is January 10.


New Hampshire: There's still time to register for NHWPCA's Winter Meeting, taking place this Friday, December 5 in Hooksett, NH.


Rhode Island: There's still time to register for RICWA's Holiday Party and Elections, taking place Friday, December 5 at Potowomut Golf Club in Warwick, RI.


Vermont: Enrollment is now open for 2026 Membership, which runs from January-December.

As we approach the end of the year, NEWEA's Office and Executive Leadership Team wishes to extend our gratitude to all of our members, sponsors, donors, and partners for their generous support this year.
