We're already one month into 2021, and it has been a busy start to the year with our virtual Annual Conference & Exhibit.
The Annual Conference kicked off with our first two conference days on January 26 and 28. The conference will continue this week on Tuesday, February 2 and Thursday, February 4. The program on the remaining conference days includes technical sessions on Residuals, Stormwater, CSO/Wet Weather, and more; the opportunity to connect with more than 50 vendors in the Exhibit Hall; keynote presentations from Liza Morris and Jamie Eichenberger; and more.
As part of our Annual Conference, we have also been hosting our third annual Innovation Pavilion. On January 27, some of the most promising innovators in New England virtually gathered for panel discussions and presentations providing guidance on innovation startup and highlighting funding opportunities. The second session of the Innovation Pavilion will take place this Wednesday, February 3.
Additionally, after the Annual Conference and Innovation Pavilion wraps up, NEWEA and NEWWA's Young Professionals Committees will be hosting the 2021 Young Professionals Summit. This event will take place on February 11, 18, and 26 and will focus on Diversity, Inclusion, and Environmental Justice in the Water and Wastewater Industry.
Check out the rest of the newsletter for more on committee news and details on upcoming events. Until next newsletter, we hope everyone has a great month and stays healthy.
As always, we invite you to contact Jordan Gosselin at jgosselin@newea.org with committee news and updates you would like to share in future editions.

Submit Your Idea to the 2020 Stormy Awards
|
|
The New England Stormwater Collaborative continues its efforts to identify the best stormwater work in New England. The award program identifies simple, imaginative, unique, and inventive stormwater ideas in three categories:
- Stormwater Management/Green Infrastructure
- Political Support/Funding/Outreach
- Program Efficiency/Technology Support
Tell us how your community or business is improving our region's ability to deliver stormwater management services in one of these three categories and you could win a Stormy Award!
- The best ideas submitted will be featured on the collaborative’s webpage and in our organizations' publications.
- The top three ideas will be featured in a special awards session at a NEWWA, NEWEA, or NEAPWA conference (rotates each year).
- The top three idea winners will receive complimentary registration to the conference.
Ideas will be judged based on ingenuity, transferability, and how effectively the idea has helped manage stormwater, increase support, or leverage a unique technology.
Submission deadline is March 1, 2021.
