WEF’S Water Advocates Program: Water Systems PFAS Liability Protection Act

Recently the EPA announced their commitment to continue to use the CERCLA (a.k.a. SuperFund) law to enforce PFAS clean-up by polluters, but they also said they don’t have the authority under the A law to protect involuntary receivers of PFAS, such as Water Resource Recovery Facilities, from being brought into costly CERCLA legal and clean-up actions.

EPA stated that Congress must pass liability exemption legislation in order to protect communities, utilities, and other involuntary receivers of PFAS.

Please urge your member of the U.S. House of Representative to cosponsor the bi-partisan H.R. 1267, the Water Systems PFAS Liability Protection Act through the recently updated WEF Water Advocates call-to-action.
