Water Environment Federation (WEF) News

The following news was included in the April edition of WEF's Member Association (MA) newsletter.

  • Applications are now open to serve in WEF's House of Delegates. The House of Delegates (HOD) Nominating Committee will select four candidates for the position of Delegate-at-Large (DAL) each year. DALs act as the primary conduit for information between their constituencies and WEF. Any WEF Member is eligible to apply. The deadline is June 30, 2026. The application and more information about the House of Delegates can be found on WEF's website.
  • The WEF House of Delegates Work Group on Developing Strategies for Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) is seeking input via a brief survey on the current use of AI within the water industry. Complete the survey at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HWYRLB3
  • WEF is conducting a national Operations & Maintenance Benchmarking Survey focused on wastewater collection systems. This survey aims to understand current operations and maintenance (O&M) practices, particularly cleaning activities, across diverse systems in terms of size, ownership (public and private), location, and other relevant factors.
  • WEF is looking for feedback from wastewater facility employees as part of their Disinfection Practices Survey. Share your facility’s current disinfection practices; contribute to a survey that has captured industry trends since 1979; and gain insights into how operations are changing in North America and beyond. Your responses will contribute to WEF’s latest industry report — the reference everyone in wastewater can rely on for disinfection trends.
