It's hard to believe that this is the penultimate issue of our 2022 newsletters. With less than 60 days left in the year, we're entering our busiest and most exciting time of the year.
With our 2023 Annual Conference fast approaching, the NEWEA Office and Meeting Management Council are hard at work planning and preparing. Our Sponsorship/Advertising program is now out, a limited number of exhibit booths are still available, Student Poster abstracts are now being accepted, and our hotel room block is open. More information and relevant links can be found below.
Stay tuned for our preliminary program and general registration, which is being released later this week! We look forward to sharing our packed program for our first fully in person Annual Conference since January 2020.
Additionally, as the end of the year nears, we are approaching the holiday season and season of giving. NEWEA will once again participate in Giving Tuesday on November 29, and throughout the month of November, we are holding our Online Auction. This auction features over 30 items from donors including Foxwoods Resort, Ragged Mountain, and Zoo New England. Don't miss your chance to bid on some great holiday gifts and raise some funds in support of NEWEA's mission.
Check out the rest of the newsletter for more on committee news and details on upcoming events. Until next newsletter, we hope everyone has a great month and stays healthy.
As always, we invite you to contact Jordan Gosselin at jgosselin@newea.org with committee news and updates you would like to share in future editions.

Watch NEWEA's Newest Video
|
|
"Water Warriors", NEWEA's latest video, is now available on NEWEA's YouTube channel!
NEWEA's Workforce Development Committee produced this video with generous support from the Woodard & Curran Foundation. The video aims to connect with Departing Military Veterans about ample opportunities for water industry careers.
Service members often already have the skills necessary to succeed in a water industry career but lack awareness of these opportunities. This video highlights how the skills developed during military service translate to water industry jobs; the stable, rewarding career opportunities available as a water professional; and avenues for getting involved in this industry.
The Workforce Development Committee plans to share this video with regional Department of Labor contacts, Veterans organizations, and New England Military bases to share this important messaging with individuals preparing to transition from active-duty service to the civilian workforce.
