Luxembourg Wrap-Up
The 2020 Interim Meeting took place on our computers this year. Covid-19 really had the Foundation rethinking how to bring you a Foundation Night; thanks to the efforts of all our board members and many others we were able to conduct the Live Auction via Facebook.
During the Saturday afternoon FAWCO presentation, the very deserving 2020 recipients of the Education Awards and Development Grants were announced. An enthusiastic congratulations to all the recipients (listed below)!
Special thanks to all of you who prepared for a fun and successful Foundation Night.
This year's festivities were to focus on the theme "The Victory is in the Vote." Since we couldn't show off our costumes that evening, many of you posted photos of yourselves in your costumes on the FAWCO and Foundation Facebook pages. This truly demonstrated your encouragement and moral support for those of us on the Foundation board as we hustled behind the scenes to put together a virtual Foundation Night in which everyone could take part. Others still bought sashes and charms and bid enthusiastically during the Live Auction to support our Fundraising efforts.
Raffle ticket sales were brisk before, during and after the Interim Meeting conference for the spectacular "Stitch in Time" 25th Anniversary Friendship Quilt.
The fundraising figures for the Live Auction and other sales have been finalized; our collective effort yielded a very impressive $30,370. Additionally, the campaign figures for our "Diamond Gauge" for the Target Project show that, to date, our clubs and individual members have raised an incredible $18,846 for S.A.F.E. (Safe Alternatives for FGM Elimination). Everyone should be so proud of the beginning fundraising efforts.
We sincerely hope that you are all
staying safe, staying healthy and staying inside.

Thanks to quick thinking and a host of volunteers, the Live Auction took place as scheduled via a Facebook Watch Party. With our auctioneer, Alicia Santiago, at the helm, the Live Auction raised $24,800. Thanks to the generous auction item donors and the bid-friendly audience!
The Silent Auction Coordinator, Carol-Lyn McKelvey, would like to thank you for your intention of donating item(s) to this year's IM in Luxembourg. Please hold on to your auction items and consider offering them for the Silent Auction at our Biennial Conference next year. Have any questions? Please contact:
silentauction@fawcofoundation.org
Charms and Benefactor packages sold quite well considering there was no meeting to attend. Charm sales brought in $820 and Benefactors pledged $1250. Lauren Mescon is still selling Luxembourg charms and Benefactor sashes!
Thanks to everyone for their overwhelming support.

25th Anniversary Quilt
Tea Towel celebrating
25 years of FAWCO Friendship Quilts!
That is a remarkable milestone, achieved largely through the hard work and dedication of our Quilt Mistress, Roberta Zöllner. Together, Roberta and all the contributors to the quilts over the years have raised more than $85,000 for the programs of The FAWCO Foundation.
In recognition of this amazing achievement, we are thrilled to honor Roberta. She has been presented with a quilt photo album, lovingly created by Tracy Moede (AWC Hamburg) and, additionally, a 2021 Development Grant in the field of Education will be set up in her name. This grant will be funded through donations and from the proceeds of the sale of our brand-new, beautiful tea towels!
These lovely Friendship Quilt tea towels, generously donated by Nan de Laubadère (AAWE Paris), will be sold for $15/15€ each. If you are interested in ordering a tea towel, please send a request to:
Donations to help fund this Development Grant are always welcome!
