December 2018

To all of our valued friends,
As 2018 winds down, the Board of The FAWCO Foundation would like to express its gratitude for the support we have received from FAWCO member clubs, from individual members, and from FAUSA and its members. We hope that you are happy with the work that we have accomplished this year on your behalf: eight Education Awards were given, totaling $32,000; eight Development Grants were awarded at $36,000; and we've disbursed $150,000 to the Target program so far - all this through the fundraising efforts of clubs, individuals and our Board's fundraising initiatives.
This year's disbursements have helped The FAWCO Foundation reach a very impressive milestone. With your generous contributions, we have donated two million dollars ($2,000,000) since our beginnings - all to benefit women and children worldwide with the goal of improving their lives and fulfilling their dreams.  Every one of us should take pride in this achievement; it is a true testament to the synergistic power of all of us bonding together and working toward a common cause.  Well done, one and all!!
We are very grateful to have you all as our supporters, donors, sponsors and  friends, whether through charitable acts, goods or monetary donations.  Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions for ways in which we can improve our service to FAWCO clubs and FAUSA. Our mission is to support our shared philanthropic goal to improve the lives of women and children across the world. Remember...your projects, your passions, your Foundation!
On behalf of the Board, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday time and a peaceful new year.
With best wishes,
Education Awards and Development Grants
The Foundation Development Grant (DG) and Education Award (EA) applications are now being accepted!  Get on board NOW!

Since the Interim Meeting in The Hague, the Foundation has been posting on Facebook and publishing articles about the DGs and EAs. I hope that all of you have seen at least one article in the many bulletins and newsletters or at least one Facebook post. That means the news is out that the applications are online and you know when the deadline for submission is (Pssst: January 27, 2019).

By now, you should have downloaded the relevant application and collected most of your information. DG applications require a Purpose of the Grant informational essay and EA applications require a Biography essay and a Purpose of Study essay.
There have been some changes with regards to requirements
for both the DGs and EAs so please take a look as they may impact you or your club.
There is still plenty of time to get yourself and/or your club organized and get your applications in on time. Also please be sure to contact us if you have any questions regarding the Development Grants or Education Awards. Good Luck!

Holiday Giving

No matter what holiday you celebrate, where you celebrate or with whom you celebrate, gift-giving is always a heartwarming experience. But did you know that when you give a gift to a loved one, you can also give back to The FAWCO Foundation at the same time?

If you shop online, you can make a donation to The Foundation with every purchase you make when you shop on AmazonSmile or iGive

It's easy.  Before you shop, log in to either one of these sites and then simply shop as you normally would.  The Foundation receives a percentage of your purchase price. Your gift-giving benefits The Foundation's programs, improving the lives of women and children worldwide.
      Shop once, give twice!
         Happy Holidays!
" Tell Me A Story "

 2019 Friendship Quilt

The 2019 Friendship Quilt is finished.  With approximately 375 books represented, this quilt does indeed tell a wonderful story!  The Quilt will be raffled off at the Annual Conference in Edinburgh this spring.  However, you don't have to attend the conference to win the quilt!
Quilt tickets are available for download both here and on the Foundation website where you will also find information on options for payment.
Quilt raffle tickets make great stocking stuffers!
   Who doesn't love a story?

From all of us at The FAWCO Foundation, we wish you a beautiful holiday season and a peaceful, joyful and healthy New Year!
