(KINGSTON, NY, January 20, 2011) - The American Red Cross of Ulster County is opening an overnight shelter in response to a natural gas delivery complication affecting hundreds of homes in the City of Kingston.

The Red Cross will provide food, beverages and a safe place to sleep for those who leave their homes. Residents coming to the shelter should bring:
� Bedding for each member of the family (although the Red Cross has some bedding available, we are asking people coming to the shelter to bring their own bedding to ensure we can give comfort to as many people as possible)
� Diapers and formula for children
� Prescription medicines
� Food for special dietary needs
*Please note that the only animals permitted in Red Cross shelters are service animals; for safety and health reasons, we can not accommodate pets.
